Collaborative Effort for Knowledge Sharing and Skill Development
At MIPA Industries, we continue to strengthen installation standards for geomembrane applications across India. As a leading manufacturer of HDPE geomembranes, we partnered with Leister Technologies India Pvt. Ltd., the pioneer in plastic welding technology, to conduct GeoWeld Connect 2024, a program introduced and presented as a technical workshop on HDPE Geomembrane Welding Technology.
The workshop brought together installers, technicians, supervisors, dealers, and other stakeholders for a focused learning experience designed to enhance welding practices that ensure long-lasting pond lining and water conservation systems.
A key moment from the event included the joint presence of Rahul Gawli, N. Shridhar, Pradeep Pailwan, and Arati Bengle from Leister Technologies India, along with Prakash Rijal, Vishal Mukhi, and Vishal Chavan from MIPA Industries, reflecting the shared commitment behind this initiative.
Hands-On Training and Practical Learning
Held on 14 May 2024 in Pune, the workshop offered a balanced mix of classroom learning and live demonstrations. Participants closely observed weld formation, practiced machine operation under guidance, and learned how temperature control, liner behaviour, and operator precision collectively influence seam strength and long-term performance.
This immersive learning approach built confidence among technicians and installers, helping them achieve more consistent results across challenging field conditions.
Expert Guidance from Experienced Professionals
The workshop sessions were led by seasoned professionals from both organizations, ensuring participants received instruction backed by years of practical field experience.
From Leister Technologies India, Mr. N. Shridhar, who brings over two decades of experience in geomembrane welding, provided detailed insights into machine calibration, welding accuracy, seam inspection, and troubleshooting. His guidance was supported by Pradeep Pailwan, who led live demonstrations and shared operational best practices rooted in Leister’s expertise.
From MIPA Industries, Vishal Mukhi and Vishal Chavan offered clear guidance on material behaviour, installation expectations, and proven field methodologies essential for ensuring durable and reliable geomembrane installations.
Recognition of Technicians, Dealers, and Contributors
As part of the workshop, a recognition segment was organized to honour geomembrane welding technicians, supervisors, dealers, and contributors who have consistently supported quality installation practices. Their dedication and field expertise were acknowledged as essential to achieving successful pond lining outcomes.
This recognition highlighted the important role of the technical community whose efforts strengthen the reliability and performance of geomembrane applications across regions.
Interactive Knowledge Exchange
Participants also engaged in an open discussion where they shared real field experiences and addressed practical challenges such as seam inspection, liner deployment, soil variations, weather impacts, and machine maintenance.
The exchange created a collaborative environment, enabling both new and experienced installers to gain practical solutions and refine their understanding of quality-driven installation practices.
Commitment to Strengthening Installation Standards
GeoWeld Connect 2024 concluded with positive feedback from attendees who expressed confidence in applying the techniques and knowledge gained during the workshop.
The program aligns with MIPA Industries’ ongoing mission to promote best practices in geomembrane installation and support India’s efforts in sustainable water management and environmental protection.
By collaborating with Leister, the pioneer in plastic welding, and bringing structured training directly to the field, we continue to build a skilled ecosystem capable of delivering reliable, long-life geomembrane solutions.
