HDPE (high density polyethylene) tarpaulin is a woven laminated fabric that provides shelter from rains, sun, wind, and other covering requirements.

HDPE Tarpaulin is Made from HDPE woven fabric laminated with LDPE added UV stabilizer and other additives.

GSM stands for grams per square meter. GSM is used to measure the weight of tarpaulin. Usually, the heavier a tarpaulin is, the better quality.

Denier is a unit of measure for the linear mass density of tape. It is defined as the mass in grams per 9,000 meters, or 1 denier = 1 gram per 9 000 meters. Usually, the higher the denier count, the higher the fabric quality.

There is a rope that is placed inside hems of the tarp. This adds strength to the tarp edge.

HDPE laminated fabric rolls generally come in 6ft width. We have to heat seal each panel together to make a specific tarpaulin size. Also, we must fold the fabric to hem on edges, and we lose 2″ for each overlap and hemming. The final tarpaulins size is slightly smaller than the cut size. Cut size is one of the Tarpaulin industry-standard measurements. A finished tarpaulin is usually a few inches smaller than its nominal dimensions.
